Garlic Planting Workshop
Have you wanted to plant garlic but were unsure of how to do it? Does the pointy end go up or down? Can I use store-bought garlic cloves? Do I plant the whole bulb? When do I plant it?
ECGI, in collaboration with Sayreville Community Garden’s Cassandra Dougherty, is holding a workshop on Saturday, November 11 at 10 a.m. that will answer these questions and more. The workshop will be held at Cypress Brewery 30 Nixon Lane, Edison NJ. It is FREE and open to the public. Any Edison Community Garden Member who attends will earn credit toward next year’s work requirement. Bring a friend or two!

Chrysanthemum Garden Sale
Add some color to your garden this fall with some beautiful chrysanthemums. The sale will be at Swales Garden which is behind St James Church on Woodbridge Ave on Saturday, Sept 30, 10 am- 4 pm and Sunday, Oct 1, 10 am -4 pm.

Prepping Your Soil Workshop
Prepping Your Soil Workshop
Join Edison Community Gardens April 16 @2pm for a free workshop on Preparing Your Soil for gardening. The workshop will be held at Swales Garden on Germantown Rd, Edison (inclement weather St James Church Hall across the street).
In this 1 hour workshop, presenter Shyamala Sharma will delve into how to best get your soil garden ready using organic nutrients including fertilizers, composts, and soil testing. Shyamala Sharma is a Master Gardener with Rutgers Extension of Middlesex County since 2007. She is involved in speaking events and garden tours with school groups, garden clubs, and libraries throughout Middlesex county.
All are welcome to this free event sponsored by Edison Community Garden Initiative.

Bob Toth, has been cleaning the Edison Boat Dock every day for the last 23 years. We will be honoring his commitment.
Mayor Sam Joshi's State of the Township Address
Mayor Sam Joshi will be making his annual State of the Township speec at the Pine Manor at 2085 NJ State Highway 27 (Lincoln Highway) in Edison. It will be broadcast on Edison TV — Channel 15 on Optimum and Channel 45 on Verizon FIOS.
We believe the speech will include important information about our community garden initiative in Edison.
